About “Save The Celebration”

There’s no money in Montclair’s budget for the Independence Day celebration!!!!!

Due to the current austere fiscal climate, this year’s municipal budget has allocated no money to the Township of Montclair’s Independence Day parade, picnic and fireworks display.

But this doesn’t mean Montclair has to be a quiet town for the holiday.

This is an opportunity for township residents to band together and save our community’s celebration.

About $50,000 is needed to have all three components of the community’s Independence Day celebration we’ve grown to expect every year.

The township has collected some private contributions through sponsorships for this year’s celebration, but a very large shortfall remains.

That’s where SaveTheCelebration.org comes in.

SaveTheCelebration.org , created in cooperation with the Montclair Township staff and the 4th of July Committee, is the online rallying point for all efforts to raise funds so that Montclair can have the most complete Independence Day possible.

Check back here at this blog for updates about how to make your donation to help Save the Celebration.

Many opportunities for township residents to donate to the cause are in the works. For starters, contributions made by check or money order can be sent to:

Montclair Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs
